Compare and contrast sodium and fluorine?

Answer: Sodium is a highly reactive metal that readily reacts with oxygen to form sodium oxide, and with water to form sodium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. Fluorine is the most reactive non-metal and reacts with almost all other elements except for helium and neon to form fluorides.
