Hello, During WW1 India was controlled by the British Empire during WW1- Many Indians fought for the British in hopes of winning over British favor so that Britain would consider giving India the power to rule themselves and give them independence, after WW1 many Indians came to realize that the British would not give them independence so many Indian nationalist movements began to rise
