Explanation:

The first step is to write the problem as a proportion which should look similar to this: 12/18 = 30/t

Next, cross multiply to rearrange the problem. That will leave you with 12t = 18 x 30

Now that your problem has been rearranged, complete all possible multiplication. 12t cannot be solved and 18 x 30 = 540 so you are left with 12t = 540

Next use inverse operations to further simplify the problem. In other words, divide each side by 12. 12t/12 = t and 540/12 = 45. Now t = 45m remains as your final solution.
