A paint store sells an orange paint that is made by combining 7 parts red with 4 parts

yellow. A customer tried to recreate the order at home, but made a mistake. Her
container has 4 parts red paint and 8 parts yellow paint. How much red paint does she
need to add to get the correct shade of orange?

Answer:

10 parts red paint

Explanation:

she doubled the amount of yellow paint in the can at home, so you will need to add twice the amount of red paint. 7×2=14, 14-4= 10.
