Answer:

the growth of bacteria after 19 days = 381

Explanation:

population of bacteria at the beginning = 80

population in 13 days grows to = 216

rate of growth = 216 - 80 = 136

growth of population after 19 days = ?

A = A₀ e ⁽r ⁻ t⁾ where:

A₀ = initial amount = 80

r = rate of growth = 136

t = time in days = 19

e = natural log

thus,

by substituting the values in the formula:

A = 80 * e ⁽¹³⁶ ⁻ ¹⁹⁾

= 80 * e ⁽¹¹⁷⁾

= 80 * 4.76

= 380.8 = 381

thus,

the growth of bacteria after 19 days = 381
