A​ 12-sided die is rolled. The set of equally likely outcomes is​ {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12}. Find the probability of rolling a number greater than 9.

Explanation:

a probability is always the ratio of

desired cases / totally possible cases

in our given problem we have 12 totally possible cases.

and we "want" the cases greater than 9.

that is : 10, 11, 12

so, 3 desired cases.

the probabilty is therefore

3/12 = 1/4 = 0.25
