If f (x) = 3x+2 and g (x)=x squared -x find the value f(8)

Answer:

f(8) = 26

Explanation:

f(x) = 3x+2

g(x) = x^2 -x

Find the value f(8)

Use x = 8 in the first equation:

f(x) = 3x+2

f(8) = 3*(8)+2 for x = 8

f(8) = 26

There doesn't appear to be any need for the g(x) expression. Unless there is something missing in the question, g(x) is in the problem is simply a diversion from what is being asked and needed.
