Explanation:

Go backwards, meaning do f(-1) and its answer to g(x). A common thing students do is find gf and then put -1, which should not be done.

f(-1) means that replace the x whith -1 in the function.
Hence: f(-1)= -1-7= -8

So: (-8)^2= 64
