Sage said that the Quadratic Formula does not always work. Sage used it to solve the equation , with a1, b3, and c2. The formula gave x = as the solutions to the equation. When Sage checked, neither one of them satisfied the equation. How could you convince Sage that the Quadratic Formula does always work?

The quadratic formula does always work. It's possible that Sage made an error somewhere in her scratch work. She'll need to double check each of her steps, and carefully check anything she typed into the calculator. Sometimes all it comes down to is that the parenthesis are in the wrong spot. Other error types are possible as well.
