Why do we feel good after scratching an itch?​

Answer:

Scratching an itch is a common way to alleviate the discomfort caused by it. When we scratch, we send low-level pain signals to the brain, which temporarily distract it from the itch. This pain also releases serotonin in the brain, which feels really good. However, serotonin also resets the itch signal, which can create a never-ending itch-scratch cycle.
