GOD says to me with a kind
of smile, "Hey how would you like
to be God awhile And steer the world?"
"Okay," says I, "I'll give it a try.

Where do I set?
How much do I get?
What time is lunch?
When can I quit?"

"Gimme back that wheel," says GOD.
"I don't think you're quite ready YET."

ok do this forget that teacher no disrespect...
1. so, the wheel is a symbol for power and control over the world. the human tries to handle it, but is lost in confusion. Only god can handle it.
2. the questions he asks could be interpreted as rhetorical questions. They create the dramatic effect of a small human being in awe at the difficulty of running the world.
3. There is also a paradox, where god says "Hey, how would you like to be god awhile..." simply because a human can never be a god. its simple but true.
