Oliver hears a huge explosion and runs down the hall to see what has happened. Peering into the lab, he can see that there are little fires burning everywhere. Oliver wonders if one of the oxygen tanks stored inside was damaged. After pushing the fire alarm, Oliver checks to see if there are any employees inside the lab. He determines that no one was present, so Oliver closes the door tight and waits for firefighters. Why would Oliver not want to use the fire extinguisher in this case? If he has already called for help, he doesn’t need to do their job for them. The fire extinguisher would not work on a fire caused by oxygen tanks. The fire is too big to be put out by a fire extinguisher. Oliver might make the fire worse if he uses a fire extinguisher.
