Hi there!

We're asked to solve the following equation:

  • \sf{2(x-4)=2x-8}

In order to solve this equation, distribute 2:

  • \sf{2x-8=2x-8}

Rearrange

\sf{2x-2x=8-(-8)}

\sf{0x=8-8}

\sf{0x=0}

\sf{0=0}

This equation has infinite solutions - it's true for any value of x.
