At the time the Democratic Republican Party was all about the French Revolution. So Jackson was portrayed as the rooster. But he is bred with a hen of African American descendant which was deemed as impure or slave. So ultimately it shows that this is an indirect way of saying, “ Democratic republicans are just degenerates supporting the French maniacs overturning their government.” Because remember, the federalists were all about minding our own business because we don’t want to be involved in European affairs, especially after the Revolutionary war.
