So first the equation of a line is represented by the equation: y=mx+b

Lets find m first also known as the slope.

The equation to find slope is: m=y-y/x-x

So with our points (0,6) and (-2,-1) this is what we can come up with.

-1-6/-2-0 or could be written as 6+1/0+2

This ends up to m=7/2 (As you can see both equations worked to get m)

Now with this we need b or the y intercept.

We find this by using point slope form.

Point slope form: y-y1=m(x-x1)

y1 can be the y point in any given point.

For example (0,6) has the y point of 6.

So using these points we make the equation of...

y-6=7/2(x-0)

After you solve this you get slope intercept form or the equation of a line!
