Females are facing discrimination with reference to literacy. As seen in the "graph", literacy rates among females have consistently been lower than males over the years. Some likely reasons are patriarchal mindsets, lack of access and opportunity for education among females, gender biases, etc.

Promotion of literacy can promote the development of a family as literate families can make informed decisions regarding health, hygiene, family planning, etc leading to better standards of living. Literate mothers pass on literacy skills to their children thereby breaking the cycle of illiteracy across generations. Literate members can gain vocational skills, get better jobs, and increase the income levels of the family.

Some democratic features in our constitution include but are not limited to the sovereignty of the people, universal adult franchise, fundamental rights, secularism, free and fair elections, independent judiciary, single citizenship, welfare state principles
