when looking at this equation, to find the slope, use the trick rise/run (rise over run).

when finding the slope, you must use the formula y = mx+b, in which:

b = the y intercept (where the first coordinate is shown directly on the y-axis).

m = the slope (which is rise/run).

so,

y intercept = 1, because it is the first plotted point on the y-axis.

slope = 1/1x, because when using the rise/run method, when following the plotted points you must move up one point and move to the right one point. when finding rise/run, the plotted points are always to the right. its like reading a book!
