Periscope:
A periscope is an optical device that uses two plane mirrors to allow someone to see an object that is not in their direct line of sight. One mirror is placed at the top of the periscope, and the other is at the bottom, both set at a 45-degree angle to the main tube. When a person looks into the top mirror, the light from the object they want to see is reflected downward, bounces off the lower mirror, and then reaches their eyes. This allows the person to view the object while remaining hidden, making periscopes useful in various applications, such as submarines and armored vehicles.
Different Use for a Plane Mirror:
Plane mirrors have a wide range of applications beyond periscopes. One common use is in everyday life as mirrors in bathrooms, bedrooms, and dressing rooms. They are also used in automotive rear-view mirrors to help drivers see what's behind their vehicle. Additionally, plane mirrors are used in optical instruments like telescopes, microscopes, and cameras to redirect and focus light, enabling us to view distant objects or magnify tiny details. Plane mirrors are also found in various scientific and industrial applications, including laser systems and optical experiments.
