Answer:

see explanation

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

given the equation

24x + 3y = - 81 ( subtract 24x from both sides )

3y = - 24x - 81 ( divide through by 3 )

(3)/(3) y =
(-24)/(3) x -
(81)/(3) , that is

y = - 8x - 27 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = - 8 and y- intercept c = - 27

To find the x- intercept , let y = 0 in the equation and solve for x

24x + 3(0) = - 81

24x + 0 = - 81

24x = - 81 ( divide both sides by 24 )

(24)/(24) x =
(-81)/(24) , that is

x = - 3.375 ← x- intercept

Thus

x- intercept = - 3.375 , y- intercept = - 27 and slope m = - 8
