"Proclaiming the Gospel" is often associated with the model of the Church as "Herald." In this model, the Church is seen as a messenger, announcing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world. The primary mission of the Church as Herald is to proclaim the Gospel and call people to conversion. While the Church also serves as a community of disciples, a mystical communion, and a servant institution, the term "proclaiming the Gospel" is most directly related to the Church's role as Herald.
