The dosage of oxacillin is 25 to 50 mg/kg every 12 hours (50 to 150 mg/kg per day) in the first week of life and every 6 to 8 hours (75 to 200 mg/kg per day) thereafter. The larger dosage is indicated for infants with disseminated staphylococcal disease or meningitis.
