You can estimately guess if the element is a metal, non-metal, or metalloid by looking at where it belongs on the periodic table. If it’s on the left side, it’s a metal. If it’s on the right side, it’s a non-metal or metalloid. Metalloids are located like a staircase, serving as a boundary between metals and non-metals.
