y = - 2x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c , substitute the point (- 3, 4 ) for x and y into the partial equation

4 = - 2(- 3) + c = 6 + c ( subtract 6 from both sides )

- 2 = c

y = - 2x - 2 ← equation of line
