(17√(2))/(√(2)+6) = (17√(2))/(√(2)+6) * (√(2)-6)/(√(2)-6) = ((17√(2))(√(2) -6))/(-34) = (-√(2)(√(2) -6))/(2) = (6√(2)-2)/(2) = 3√(2)-1

By using conjugation
(√(2) +6)(√(2) -6) = (√(2)) ^(2) - 6^(2) = 2-36 =-34
