Answer:

55.555%

Explanation:

Given:

  • Monthly Salary = Rs 40,000
  • Commission Rate = 5% = 0.05
  • Total Sales of Medicine = Rs 10,00,000

To find:

  • Percent of the monthly income of commission amount.

Solution:

Firstly, Calculate the commission amount

Commission Amount = Commission Rate Percent of Total Sales of Medicine

= 5% of Rs 10,00,000

= 0.05 × Rs 10,00,000

= Rs 50,000

Now, Calculate the monthly income

Monthly Income = Salary + Commission Amount

= 40,000 + 50,000

= Rs 90,000

And, Finally

Calculate the commission percentage, using formula:

\begin{aligned} \textsf{Commission Percentage} & = \frac{\textsf{Commission Amount }}{\textsf{Monthly Income}}\cdot 100\% \\\\ &= ( 50,000)/(90,000)\cdot 100\% \\\\ & = 0.5555555 \cdot 100 \% \\\\ & = 55.555 \% \textsf{ ( in 3 d.p)} \end{aligned}

Therefore, the commission percentage of the doctor's monthly income is 55.555%.
