Answer:

P = 2(3x-3+2x)

P = 3(5x-3)

P = 15x-9

54 = 15x-9

-15x=9-54

x= 3

AD = 3x-3=3*3-3 =9-3=6units

Explanation:

the perimeter of a rectangle is

2×length + 2×width.

in our case that means

2×(3x - 3) + 2×(2x) = 54

6x - 6 + 4x = 54

10x - 6 = 54

10x = 60

x = 6

so,

AD = 3x - 3 = 3×6 - 3 = 18 - 3 = 15 units
