A gardener installed 42.6 meters of fencing in a week. He installed 13.45 meters on Monday and

9.5 meters on Tuesday. He installed the rest of the fence in equal lengths on Wednesday through Friday.
How many meters of fencing did he install on each of the last three days?

Answer -

He installed 6.55 meters in the last three days.

Explanation -

If you take 42.6 and have that on one side of the equal sign when making an equation then you can put 13.45 and 9.5 on the other side so it makes it 42.6 = 13.45+9.5| so far that's what it looks like but then you add 3x to the right side to represent the 3 days and amount of fencing he installs. The final equation comes to: 42.6 = 13.45+9.5+3x| then you'd use that equation to solve for 'x' like I did in the image Attached.
