so, let's start with the y-axis interception point. this point has x = 0 and a positive y-value (> 5).

from there we go to the right.

that means x increases (the x coordinate difference is > 0, positive).

what happens with the y-value ? as we can see, the y-value decreases. so, the y coordinate difference is < 0, negative.

for the slope this means it is a negative/positive = negative value.

so, negative is the right answer.
