Answer: Create a T chart, plug in x's to find y's, graph each point

Explanation:

If y= 2|x|

Let's say x is 1, y = 2|1| = 2, graph (1,2)

Let's say x is -1, y = 2|-1| = 2, graph (-1,2)

Let's say x is 0, y = 2|0|= 0, graph (0,0)

Let's say x is 3, y = 2|3|= 6 (3,6)

Let's say x is -3, y = 2|-3|= 6 (-3,6)

And so on

Remember that the absolute value of a number is it's distance from zero on the numberline. Absolute values are always positive.

Note that your chart should look like a V

Answer: (see steps below!)

Explanation:

Hey there! This problem is simply asking you to graph an absolute value parent function with a slope of 2.

First you will want to start by creating a line in the first quadrant on your graph that has a slope of 2.

Next you will want to mirror this line in quadrant 2 of your graph, which would be the top left. This should look somewhat like a V.

This is true because a negative x value becomes positive with absolute value, thus Y never crosses the x-axis nor becomes negative.
