you must use the Pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse, or x, (a^2 + b^2 = c^2). first, fill in for a b and c, so 6^2 + 7^2 = x^2. that would be 85 = x^2. find the square root of both sides of the equation. this leaves us with √85 as the answer
