desired cases / totally possible cases

when we have to combine 2 independent events into one event, we can simply multiply the individual probabilities.

the probability to get A on the first spinner is

1 desired result (A) / 2 possible results = 1/2

the probabilty to get a number greater than 1 on the second spinner is

5 desired results (2 .. 6) / 6 possible results = 5/6

so, the probability of the combined event is

1/2 Ă— 5/6 = 5/12
