y = ax² + bx + c ( a ≠ 0 )

given

y = 2(x + 4)² - 21 ← expand (x + 4)² using FOIL

= 2(x² + 8x + 16) - 21 ← distribute parenthesis by 2

= 2x² + 16x + 32 - 21 ← collect like terms

= 2x² + 16x + 11 ← in standard form
