Explanation: Well, there are a lot of powers granted to each entity, but a few powers reserved for the states include everything that hasn't been granted to the federal government, because of the tenth Tenth Amendment. Such as educational standards, issuing licences and other documentation, conducting elections (and allocating their electors- as ME and NE have decided to split theirs by Congressional District) and collecting state taxes.

The states cannot coin money, establish uniform immigration and naturalization laws, make treaties, regulate foreign and intrastate commerce, declare war, and several others. Those are reserved to the federal government, alog with several more powers. These are just examples. I would suggest reading Article IV to see some more.
