Answer: a) v=2.45

b) v=2.83 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Kinetic energy = 1/2 m*(v)^2 where m is mass and v is velocity.

Since the mass is 400 kg we plug in and solve for v

a) 1,200 J = 1/2 (400) v^2

1200= 200*v^2

6 = v^2

v= 2.45 m/s

For b do the same thing.

1600= 1/2 400 v^2

8=v^2

v=2.83 m/s

Hope this helps
