Answer: The answer is 8 3/4 hours

Explanation:

First, convert both of the fractions into an improper fraction.

15 1/2 = 31/2

6 3/4 = 27/4

Since the denominator of the fractions aren't equal, you will need to turn the smallest one into an equivalent fraction.

31/2 = 62/4

Now, let's subtract!

62/4 - 27/4 = 35/4

Convert it to a mixed fraction:

35/4 - 8 3/4

Therefore, Shay needs to work for 8 3/4 more hours. I'm in 6th Grade Science class right now, so sorry for the slow response :)
