Natasha is correct
You can find the answer by making them into fractions 18 8/10 • 1 6/10 which becomes improper fractions 188/10 • 16/10 which equals to 188/10 x 10/16. The 10s cancel and we get 188/16 which is 11.75.

They may have used a different method which may have had complications
