BD=24

Explanation:

I assigned my unkown sides of the triangles as x and y, where x = BD and y =AD.

I used pythagoras' theorem to find expressions for the the sides of the triangles in terms of x and y.

Both expressions had the term x^2 in them, so I equated expressions of x^2

From there i rearranged to find y.

Using my value of y, I found x.
