Answer: A square number is another way of saying a perfect square. Any integer that has an integer as its square root is a square number.

For instance, 9 is a square number because its square root is 3, and 49 also is a square number because its square root is 7.

A number such as 108 is not a square number because its square root is 10.39 which is not an integer.
