x = -3

Explanation:

15 = 5

x-6 x (I cannot draw the fraction line, but it looks like it)

cross multiple and you get, 15x = 5(x-6)

distribute the 5 on the right side of equation, 15x = 5x-30

combine like terms by subtracting 5x from both sides (cause what you do to one side, you do to the other!!!), 15x-5x = 5x-5x-30

10x = -30

divide by 10 (again, do it to both sides), x/10 = -30/10

solve for x, x = -3
