When there are two flags to be displayed, the national ensign is always displayed to the right of the other flag. The other flag could be a state flag, organizational flag, or any other flag, but the national ensign/flag should always be given the place of honor, which is to its right. This is known as the "Order of Precedence of Flags" as established by the government of the United States. When the two flags are crossing, the national ensign should still be given the place of honor and positioned to the right of the other flag as viewed from the perspective of an observer. In general, the national flag should be treated with respect and displayed prominently when in the presence of other flags.
