2 |x-7| = x-8

|x-7| = (x-8)/2

|x-7| = 1/2x - 4

a) x - 7 = 1/2x - 4 or

b) x - 7 = - (1/2x - 4)

a) x -7 = 1/2x - 4

x - 1/2x = -4 + 7

1/2x = 3

x = 3/(1/2)

x = 6

x - 7

b) x - 7 = - (1/2x - 4)

x - 7 = - 1/2x + 4

x + 1/2x = 4 + 7

3/2x = 11

x = 11/ (3/2)

x = 22/3
