Which is the correct way to write 602,200,000,000,000,000,000,000 in scientific notation? Use the same number of significant figures as the number above has.

Answer:

6.022*10^23

Explanation:

Scientific notation is written in a*10^b where a is between 1 and 10 and b is a whole number. Finding the number of digits to the left of 6 gets us b so b is 23. The significant figures of the original number is 4, 6022. The trailing zeros is just multiplying by 10 so they aren't significant. Lets put it all together:

6.022*10^23
