Answer:

y = 3x + 11.

3 points on that line:

(0,11)

(1,14)

(10,41)

Explanation:

point slope form is y = mx + b where m is slope and B is the y intercept.

The problem gives you m = 3.

So y = 3x + b

Let's solve for b by substituting the given point (-2,5) for x and y in that equation.

y = 3x + b

5 = 3(-2) + b

5 = -6 + b

5 + 6 = -6+6 + b

11 = b

So the y intercept, aka "b", is 11.

Now your equation is y = 3x + 11.

So the problem asks you to find 3 additional points.

Let's choose x = 0. What is y?

y = 3(0) + 11 = 0 + 11 = 11

So (0,11) is a point.

Now let's choose x = 1. What is y?

y = 3(1) + 11 = 3 + 11 = 14

So (1,14) is a point.

Now let's choose x = 10. What is y?

y = 3(10) + 11 = 30 + 11 = 41.

So (10,41) is point.
