The slope of the line is 1/3
A point on the line is (1,6)

distribute and subtract to get y=1/3x + 17/3
In the formula of a slope y=mx+b the number 1/3 is m (the slope)

choose an x value (1) and solve for y to get 6
therefore a point in the line is (1,6)

Answer:

Explanation:

This equation is in point-slope form.
y-y1 = m(x-x1)

The point is (x1, y1) x-5=0, so x=5 and y-4=0, so y=4. The point is (5, 4)

The m is the slope. m=1/3
