please help me asap

Answer: w = -8

1. Move variables to left, and numbers to right, without forgetting to change the sign:

12 + 3w = -4 + w
3w - w = -4 - 12

2. Simplify (That „|” means operation on both sides of equation):

2w = -16 |:2
w = -8

So w is equal to -8. Proof (Solving equation with replacing „w” with -8):

12 + 3 * (-8) = -4 + (-8)
12 + (-24) = -4 - 8
12 - 24 = -4 - 8
-12 = -12

And if both sides of equation are the same, equation is correct.
