Let (x1, y1) = (9,7) and (x2, y2) = (6,3)

By distance formula,

d = (x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²

d = (6 - 9)² + (3 - 7)²

d = (-3)² + (-4)²

d = 9 + 16

d = 25 units

\large\bf{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{Given}:}}}

The points (9,7) and (6,3).

\large\bf{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{To\:find}:}}}

The distance between them.

\large\bf{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{Solution}:}}}

We know that,

{\boxed{\small{\rm{Distance^2=(x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y_2)^2\:\:.....(i)}}}}

In the given question,

:{\Longrightarrow{\small{\rm{x_1=9}}}}

:{\Longrightarrow{\small{\rm{x_2=6}}}}

:{\Longrightarrow{\small{\rm{y_1=7}}}}

:{\Longrightarrow{\small{\rm{y_2=3}}}}

Now,

By putting these values in equation (i) we get:

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance^2=(9-6)^2+(7-3)^2}}}}

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance^2=(3)^2+(4)^2}}}}

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance^2=(9)+(16)}}}}

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance^2=25}}}}

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance=√(25)}}}}

:{\implies{\small{\rm{Distance=5\:units}}}}
