Explanation:

as with any regular 3D object : the volume is

base area × height

in the case of a cylinder, the base area is a circle, abd the area of circle is

pi × r²

with r being the radius (= half of the diameter).

so, in our case we have the volume to be

pi × (14/2)² × 8 = 3.14 × 7² × 8 = 3.14 × 49 × 8 =

= 1,230.88 mm³
