Answer: The area of the smaller circle is
65.6cm^(2).

Explanation:

A =
\pi r^(2), r is the radius.

1. Find out the diameter of the small circle.

(1)/(3)(27)= 9

2) Find out the radius, r.

radius = (diameter)/(2) =(9)/(2) =4.5

3) We plugin r = 4.5 into the formula to solve the area of the smaller circle.

A=\pi r^(2)=\pi (4.5)^(2) =65.6cm^(2)
