at half the velocity KE= 1/2 x 3 x 8.1^2 = 98. 415

orginal gpe = 3 x 9.8 x 3.5 = 102.9

energy lost = 102.9 - 98.415 = 4.485

m x g x change in height = 4.485

change in height = 4.485/(3x9.8) = 0.1525

new height = 3.5 - 0.1525 = 3.35
