Using quadratic formula,

x=(-14\pm √((14^2-4*1*(-144)) )/(2*1)


=(-14\pm √((196+576) )/(2)


=(-14\pm 2√(193) )/(2)


=-7\pm√(193)


=-7\pm13.89
